Message from the Principal

Welcome to our school website which I hope will provide a snapshot of our vibrant and exciting school. We hope it connects the large Seamount College community of parents, staff and students, whether past or present.

Our aim is to get to know each individual child in our care and to guide them in all aspects of their growth from young teen to young adult. We engage with them academically, but also creatively and spiritually, so that they leave Seamount College with confidence and with good self-esteem.

We strongly believe that a child will learn if they are happy and therefore we strive to create a positive school climate where everyone is treated with respect and with Christian values.

We feel privileged and blessed to work in such a beautiful area and are committed to giving the best educational experience to the young people of Kinvara and its environs.

We are also incredibly appreciative of the tremendous support of our local community. Learning goes beyond the classroom and we encourage all to participate in the arts and in sport as well as to have a global perspective.

Now, as we plan our Centenary celebrations of 2022 the school is stronger than ever, with over 560 boys and girls and 50 staff in attendance each day under the Trusteeship of the Bishop of Galway.

The Department of Education and Skills has invested heavily in the school and we are currently engaged in a major building project that will see Seamount College emerge as a state-of-the-art school.

Le gach deá-ghuí,

Maighréad Mhic Dhomhnaill.
